Why do we include so many images?
Perhaps you've seen scenic screensavers or scenic image discs on the Internet that include only 10 or 20 images. Assuming each image is displayed for 60 seconds, which is far longer than some screensaver engines permit, the images repeat themselves so frequently as to be boring. Even worse, some screensavers come with this limited number of images compiled into the software. So if you select that screensaver, you are limited to those few images. Our collections are expansive - very large numbers of images. You may choose to add them all to your screensaver, as we have, or you may choose to select only your favorite 300 images to display. Either way, the variety is spectacular. This is the real benefit to our having many thousands of photos to select from as we compiled our collections.
Why don't we include Screensaver Software?
You might wonder: Why don't we include screensaver software with our collections? Windows operating systems commonly in use include screensaver modules that will display pictures. (e.g. Windows XP includes 'Photos' and Windows Live Photo Gallery.' Previous Windows versions also included a slide show type screensaver.) All the user needs to do is copy the image files to a directory on the hard drive and configure the settings of the screensaver module to point to that directory. If the features of these are not to your liking, nicely featured slide show screensaver modules are available for various operating systems for under $15, some even as freeware, on the Internet. Therefore we focus on quality images, not software. An additional complication is that slide show screensavers that work on Windows XP might or might not work on Windows Vista and vice versa, so if you choose to download screensaver software, make sure you obtain one for your operating system.
